August 2008: How to join the Financial Ombudsman Service |

The Financial Ombudsman Service consolidates the Insurance Ombudsman Service (IOS), the Banking & Financial Services Ombudsman (BFSO) and Financial Industry Complaints Service (FICS) to bring under one roof independent dispute resolution services for up to 80% of Australian banking, insurance and investment disputes. |

April 2008 - New Survey of IOS Hotline Callers |

IOS has recently completed a report on a new survey of callers to the IOS Hotline, in a follow-up to a similar survey which took place in 2005. The purpose of the survey was to better understand who is using the IOS Hotline, why they are calling and whether the IOS was helpful in addressing their enquiries. IOS has made available to all participating companies details on the RBA 10 year bond rate, plus the statutory 3% as required by the Insurance Contracts Act, which applies to determinations where part of the settlement requires the insurer to pay interest.
